Sleep Deprived
• 11:00PM Signed into the emergency room
• 11:30PM Got Hubby's stats and why we are at the emergency room
• 12:00 MIDNIGHT still waiting
• 1:00AM Still Waiting
• 2:00AM Still Waiting and Sleep deprived
• 2:45AM False alarm we thought we were going to the back to see the doctor but they wanted to get our insurance information!
• 3:00AM Still Waiting and half asleep
• 3:30AM Called back to a room to see the doctor
• 4:00AM Nurse Came in the room to see the cut on the finger and get some more information
• 4:10AM Doctor came in to see patient and looked at the cut. He does indeed need stitches. The cut was about ¾ - 1 inch deep done with a pocket knife
• 4:30AM Nurse came in to clean cut and administer a tetanus shot.
• 4:40AM Doctor came in to sew up the finger.
• 5:00AM Paid hospital bill
Six hours later 5:15AM leaving the hospital.
We considered almost every hour to leave the hospital and go home and see our family doctor the following day but we knew the cut was too deep to consider. Over all, even though we hated the six hours in the emergency room, the doctor was awesome. Very apologetic about the wait - he came in at 11:30PM, the two other doctors left at 2:30AM and he was the only doctor on call to cover the emergency room and it didn't help that they did have a few ambulance deliveries. We do kind of laugh how it would have been amusing to have my camera with us; let's see what picture opportunities would we have?
A man walking around in a hospital gown with only his underwear on, thank goodness he had underwear on or else we would have been flashed several times.
The cute 7 month old little girl who would babble with us - she was a cutie pie and so good.
The red hair lady with a splint on her arm - every time we looked in her direction it looked like she was staring at us. It was kind of creepy looking...
Picture of Steven snoozing in his chair - which the chairs were the most uncomfortable chairs in the world - It might have something to do with it being 2am in the morning and we are tired.
Picture of me dead sleep in the uncomfortable chair. I didn't even hear them call Steven's name - I was totally out.
A picture of Steven's face when he saw the needle for the anesthesia. It was just the needle to draw the anesthesia out of the bottle and the actual needle was smaller.
Steven's face when the doctor deadened his finger - he said the needle HURT! I told him it would!
A picture of the doctor sewing up his flap of skin back together.
Even though we don't have any pictures we have the memories and it's Steven's fault we sat six hours in the emergency room :-) j/k
So I am very sleepy today - I did make it to a job interview today. I just hope I didn't look glassy eyed. Steven went to work as well, but I plan on picking him up because he is so tired.
PICTURES COMING COMING of the knife and finger...
